The Founding of ICSK

We have talked about it often. The time to do something concrete is now and no other day better than this day". Mr U.C Kohli spelt out his plans at a gathering to celebrate the Indian Independence Day.  He unveiled his plans of starting a school for the Indians in Kuwait.Mr Kohli along with Mr Sharma, Mr Sethi and Mr Varghese had done the homework

Faith, dedication and unlimited  enthusiasm  coerced them to pursue their dream of setting up the school. The original plan envisioned a school  of fifty to a maximum of one hundred fifty students gradually.A reasonable amount of rupees collected and promises from several others made them move a step ahead in realizing their dream.

A building in Nugra for a monthly rent of little over 500 rupees, furniture from other similar institutions and voluntary services by Mrs. Sethi as Headmistress made up the basics of the school.  The Indian School Kuwait (ISK) was the very first foreign institution to be established in the State of Kuwait and was inaugurated by the then Minister of Education. The golden key of the school is displayed at the Kuwait Museum.
