The Indian Community School, Kuwait Hosts Gyanotsav 2025 – A Celebration Of Knowledge And Innovation

Oct 23, 2025 ICSK Senior

The campus of The Indian Community School, Senior came alive with joy, colour, and creativity on 23rd October 2025, as it hosted the much-awaited Gyanotsav — a magnificent celebration of knowledge, innovation, and the boundless imagination of young minds. The theme, ‘The Five Elements of Nature,’ beautifully captured the harmony between learning and the world around us. The entire school — from its grand entrance to the classrooms and auditorium — was transformed into a vibrant canvas depicting the solar system and the natural elements of earth, water, fire, air, and space. The day was not just an event; it was a festival of ideas, where curiosity met creativity, and learning came alive in its most inspiring form.

Gyanotsav 2025 witnessed the spirited participation of 1,200 enthusiastic students representing 33 departments of ICSK. From English and Mathematics to Artificial Intelligence and Tourism, every subject found its voice through captivating models, creative exhibits, and thoughtful presentations. Each project reflected the dedication, teamwork, and brilliance of students who poured their hearts into transforming knowledge into experience.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with a serene recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a prayer song that filled the air with a divine calm. The gathering rose in respect for the national anthem of Kuwait. A graceful classical dance by the talented dancers of ICSK painted a picture of India’s rich cultural heritage, setting the perfect tone for a day of enlightenment and inspiration.

The school had the privilege of welcoming distinguished guests whose presence made the occasion even more memorable. The Chief Guest, H.E. Ms. Halima A. Mohamud, Ambassador of Kenya to the State of Kuwait; and Special Guests, Mrs. Soraya, COCAC & Director, Institut francais du Koweit and Mr. Said Mammar, Assistant Director, Institut francais du Koweit graced the occasion. They were joined by esteemed dignitaries Mr. Shaikh Abdul Rahiman, Hon. Chairman to the Board of Trustees; Mr. Amer Mohammed, Hon. Secretary to the Board of Trustees; Mr. Vinukumar Nair, Hon. Vice Chairman to the Board of Trustees; Dr. Anoop Kumar Sharma, Principal of New Gulf Indian School; Mrs. Sajitha Menon, Principal of Salmiya Indian Model School; Dr. V. Binumon, Principal and Senior Administrator of ICSK; Mr. Rajesh Nair, Principal of ICSK Amman, Mrs. Shirley Dennis, Director of ISEK and Mrs. C. Sheeja, Principal of ICSK Junior.

Dr. V. Binumon, Principal and Senior Administrator of ICSK, extended an august and heartfelt welcome to the distinguished gathering. In his inspiring address, he emphasized the true purpose of Gyanotsav — to nurture confidence, encourage hands-on learning, and inspire students to venture beyond the boundaries of textbooks. He highlighted the importance of developing strong communication skills and experiential understanding, reminding students that education is not just about acquiring knowledge, but about discovering, expressing, and creating with purpose.

The traditional lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, H.E. Ms. Halima A. Mohamud and Special Guests, Mrs. Soraya and Mr. Said Mammar accompanied by Dr. V. Binumon illuminated the stage — a symbolic gesture representing the triumph of knowledge over ignorance.

The esteemed Chief Guest, H.E. Ms. Halima A. Mohamud praised the institution for fostering a vibrant culture of curiosity, creativity, and holistic learning. She encouraged the students to remain focused on their studies, to always respect and seek the blessings of their parents, and to have unwavering faith in their own abilities. With words that inspired both young minds and educators alike, she formally inaugurated Gyanotsav 2025, marking the beginning of a day filled with enthusiasm, innovation, and the joy of discovery.

ICSK has proudly extended its wholehearted support to the National Energy Saving Campaign – Waffer, launched by the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy (MEWRE), Kuwait. As part of this meaningful initiative, students designed digital awareness flyers to promote simple yet powerful eco-friendly habits that can help build a greener and more sustainable future.

In recognition of their outstanding contributions, students who prepared the best digital flyers were honoured with mementos by the esteemed Chief Guest as a token of appreciation. The proud recipients were Ms. Neha Mohammed Salim, Ms. Kripa Reji, Ms. Farah Afsheen Shamsudeen, Mst. Daaris Basheer Chettiyanthodi, Ms. Nikita Kingsley, Ms. Ayesha Mirza, Mst. Ain Ali Faizy, Ms. Joyce Liz, Ms. Deepika Vijayaraghavan and Mst. Ammar Shabbir.

The Special Guest Mrs. Soraya, in her encouraging message, appreciated the collective effort that made Gyanotsav possible and motivated the young learners to keep exploring and innovating. The esteemed Chief Guest and the Special Guests were presented with mementos as a token of appreciation and gratitude.

To add a touch of melody and joy to the celebration, the talented young musicians of ICSK presented a captivating musical performance that enthralled the audience. Their harmonious voices and rhythmic tunes filled the auditorium with energy and happiness, creating an atmosphere of festivity and togetherness.

The celebration reached a moment of splendour with a vibrant dance performance by the talented dancers of ICSK. Dressed in colourful attire, they mesmerized the audience with their graceful movements and perfect coordination.

As the inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Jesha Alex, Chief Coordinator of Gyanotsav 2025, the excitement among students reached its peak. The school corridors soon transformed into lively galleries filled with 700 exhibits — from intricate working models and digital displays to live experiments and dramatic presentations. Each classroom became a world of imagination, reflecting themes that blended science, art, and innovation.

Visitors, parents, and students from nearby schools were enthralled by the creativity on display. The commercial stalls, set up by various departments, added colour and joy to the event — with all proceeds dedicated to charity, reinforcing ICSK’s belief in compassion and community service.

Gyanotsav 2025 was more than just an exhibition — it was a celebration of spirit, learning, and togetherness. It encouraged students to think independently, work collaboratively, and express their ideas with confidence.

The day left a lasting impression on everyone who attended, serving as a reminder that true education is not confined to books — it lives in curiosity, creativity, and the courage to imagine something new.
