The Indian Community School, Senior, came alive with enthusiasm, gratitude, and a beautiful spirit of learning as it celebrated Self-Governance Day on Monday, 21st September 2026. The special occasion offered the students of Class XII a meaningful opportunity to take on the role of teachers, understand the dedication behind their daily responsibilities, and experience the values of leadership, commitment, and service. The day also became a heartfelt tribute to the teachers who continue to inspire, guide, and shape young minds.
The elected School Senate of ICSK Senior, under the guidance of Mrs. Jesha Alex, Senate Advisor, and the able leadership of Heaven Sam Shine, Head Boy, and Punya Prajeesh, Head Girl, took charge of the day's proceedings with confidence and enthusiasm.
The celebrations began with a lively and colourful morning assembly presented by the students of Class XII. The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the school prayer, followed by the hoisting of the national flag of Kuwait and the rendition of the Kuwait National Anthem. The atmosphere soon filled with joy as talented students presented captivating dance performances, a creative skit, a fashion show, melodious songs, and a wonderful band performance.
Dr. V. Binumon, Principal and Senior Administrator of ICSK, appreciated the students for their impressive presentation and encouraged them to embrace the responsibilities entrusted to them with sincerity, confidence, and dedication.
One of the most meaningful highlights of the day was the participation of 387 aspiring student-teachers from Class XII. With carefully prepared lesson plans and the constant support and guidance of their subject teachers, the students entered the classrooms not merely as learners, but as teachers. They approached their lessons with creativity, enthusiasm, and genuine effort, making the classroom experience enjoyable and engaging for their peers.
Their dedication and teaching skills were observed and evaluated the Best Student Teacher Award was selected to acknowledge outstanding performance and encourage the young teachers to continue nurturing their passion for learning and teaching.
Adding an emotional touch to the celebrations, the students also presented a special video dedicated to their teachers. The heartfelt presentation beautifully reflected the bond between teachers and students and served as a sincere reminder of the countless ways in which teachers make a difference in the lives of their students.
