The Indian Community School, Senior, hosted ‘Prayaan – The Blessing Ceremony’ for the students of Classes X and XII on Monday, 8th February 2026, to formally welcome them and mark the commencement of the new academic session. Keeping with its cherished tradition of prayer and guidance, ICSK blessed students as they began this significant phase of their academic journey.
As grade X and XII represent defining phases in a student’s educational journey, the ICSK family extended heartfelt wishes for their success, growth, and happiness in the years ahead. The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Sr. Saritha Monteiro, A.C., Principal of Carmel School, Kuwait.
The ceremony commenced with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Miss. Zainab Chikte, setting a reverent and serene tone for the gathering. The school choir, Swaranjali, captivated the audience with a melodious prayer song, further enhancing the spiritual ambiance. The assembly also paid homage to the National Anthem of Kuwait.
Dr. V. Binumon, Principal and Senior Administrator of ICSK, extended a warm and inspiring welcome. Quoting Stephen Hawking, he encouraged students to “begin with an end in mind.” He emphasized the importance of consistency, effective time management, avoiding procrastination, seeking help when needed, and believing in oneself.
The ceremony was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the Chief Guest, Sr. Saritha Monteiro, A.C., accompanied by Dr. V. Binumon. The choir then presented an inspirational song encouraging students to embrace a growth mindset and maintain a positive outlook on life.
Sr. Saritha Monteiro, in her address advised students to seek their parents’ blessings, make the most of opportunities, use time wisely, stay focused, and remain spiritually grounded. Her prayer, offered on behalf of the entire ICSK family, expressed collective wishes for the students’ success, well-being, and prosperity.
A highlight of the event was the introduction of the class and subject teachers. The enthusiastic students welcomed their mentors with thunderous applause, acknowledging their pivotal role in shaping their academic and personal growth. To facilitate effective classroom management, essential tools such as personal logs, class logs, and timetables were ceremonially presented to the teachers by the Chief Guest, accompanied by Dr. V. Binumon. Chocolates were distributed to the students, adding a touch of sweetness to the occasion.
In a special gesture of gratitude, Dr. V. Binumon presented a memento to Sr. Saritha Monteiro, A.C., symbolizing the school’s appreciation for her valuable presence and blessings.
An inspirational video was screened to further boost students’ confidence and self-esteem. It highlighted the importance of overcoming challenges, perseverance, consistency, and never giving up. The video served as a powerful reminder that success is the result of resilience and unwavering determination.
Mrs. Nigy Jacob, Mr. Illyas Jathiyeri, Mr. Sujith Krishna and Mrs. Sona Mary also addressed the students with motivational messages. They highlighted the transformative power of education and emphasized the importance of self-discipline, patience, hard work, and striving for excellence in all aspects of life.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Musarrat Parker, HOD of Commerce, who expressed deep gratitude to all dignitaries, teachers, staff, and students for making the ceremony a resounding success.
Prayaan 2026 marked a promising start to the year, motivating students to move forward with confidence, focus, and determination toward their goals.
